Creating Art With The Computer Yolanda Martin, Teacher
I am now giving private watercolor lessons in my home art studio providing my supplies if needed to those close friends brave enough to be my students and who are interested primarily in their personal wellness. The student should anticipate and appreciate the therapeutic benefits to be derived by creating their own fine art by discovery learning and however they may choose.
They can enjoy creating their "masterpieces" purely for their own satisfaction and sense of well being. I will help them finish and frame their art for hanging in their home, their friends home, or some world renown art gallery.
Also, if requested, I will be providing lessons in Digital Photo Editing with my computer using Paint Shop Pro 9. I will teach how a photo can be transformed into a fine art portrait or image. It is also an introduction to Computer Art Imagery and Digital Painting using my Wacom Tablet and Stylus and Windows XP Paint Shop Pro 9 on my HP Personal Desktop Computer.
For some, I will teach the basics of computer usage before advancing the student to creating art images with the computer. The student should want to expererience the opportunity for expressing their creativity and inner self using the computer.
The emphasis is on developing a fun and enjoyable relationship with the computer and discovering all the things the computer can do to augment whatever art skills they presently have already acquired in life.
Students will have the opportunity for my friendly one on one personalized instruction and also they will be able to experience my computer environment which is fully equipped for creating Computer Graphic Design and Images.
If they decide to do so they can purchase PSP or another photo editing program of their choice (I have 5 different ones installed on my computer) and install their program choice on their own computer. I can visit them in their home and on their computer help them do that.
When they have progressed beyond my beginner's and intermediate level instruction, I will guide them to computer online tutorials and other educational online computer art resources for their continued computer assisted education with moderators world wide who review the students work sent to them via email.
I look forward to teaching and sharing the skills I have attained during my life and my career with others. My compensation gratuity is negotiable and fair and is for art resources and work space used.
"Interest is the best educator." I majored in mathematics and minored in education at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Art has always been my avocation, my advocation, and developing computer software was my actual vocation in life. I am qualified to teach and hope the student will want to learn.

- He who laughs last, probably has a back-up.
- The number one cause of computer problems is computer solutions.
- A complex system that doesn't work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.
- A computer program will always do what you tell it to do, but rarely what you want it to do.
- AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... The computer knows more about ART than you do and always will!

PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARDIt seems there are so very many talented and able artists in the world ..... tough competition indeed, so I just satisfy myself by creating my art and enjoying the pleasure and progress I derive in the process. I try not to compete, compare, or critically judge others in life but strive to learn and improve and make friends along the way.
